Things You Should Know
VIA encourages students to study abroad. However, students should also be aware of several things.
- Always keep your money and passport in a safe place.
- Always have a visa for the country you are travelling to.
- Always make sure you know how to get from the airport to your homestay, school, etc.
- Contact your school or homestay before you leave your country to make sure they know you are coming and when to expect you.
- Research your school. Many great schools are not well-known, and famous schools might not provide the education you are hoping for.
- Before you register, read the refund policy of your school.
- Check if you can change programs after your program starts.
- If you have a homestay, check if you can change if you aren't happy.
- Does your school have a student coordinator that speaks your language?
- Can you take a (free) trial lesson before you register?
These are just a few questions students schould ask themselves. If you have more questions or if we can be of assistance please contact us.
